ARM64 Support, Bug Fixes, & DEFCON Bound: What’s New in Our Latest OSINT VM

Just in time for our Search Party during DEFCON, our OSINT virtual machine release for this quarter is dropping today with some much needed bug fixes and new features:

• Fixed an issue where some tools fail to install. Particularity for spiderfoot and metagoofil.
• Support for ARM64-based hypervisors is here. Enjoy building your VM on your Apple silicon based systems with ease.

We also did a refresh of our distribution infrastructure. Full VM images and other release artifacts will be available on the new vm-downloads.tracelabs.org endpoint instead of Google Drive. Next release, we aim to expand our support to QubesOS and address our toolkit. As it stands, we have many great OSINT tools, but we also still have many cyber-focused tools left over from when Kali was the base image. At the same time, members of our community have also developed great tools that are a perfect fit for our mission. Only featuring tools that are high-quality and purpose-built for the modern day makes the project both accessible and powerful for supporting OSINT investigations.
